Hello, My name is Heather Peters and I am so excited to be a part of the team at Achievers Preschool SR as your program director. I have two of my own children, Trevor is in middle school and Hannah is in high school.
For seven years, I worked in child development by running a large family child care program in my home. During that time, I enjoyed developing the curriculum and working with my assistants and parents to provide the best possible environment for their children. After daycare and my children were older, I decided to find a job outside of the home.
I became a teacher for 5 years at Mark West Community Preschool. I learned a lot about the Reggio Emilia philosophy and found a way for children to express themselves through things they were interested in and learn through play. After I finished teaching, I became the assistant center director at extended child care for a year. During that time, I supervised staff and helped run the administrative part of the program, as well as worked on the floor with children. I have been continuing my education at SRJC, taking multiple classes to further my education in early childhood education
